this great 1975 release sadly went very unnoticed at its time of release in the uk back in 1975, this is the first & best cd reissue of this on the cd format from rock candy, i have the original uk lp & a bootleg cd of this strife album rush on cd that was released on the old ZOOMCLUB label in the uk a good 20 years ago but the remastering here is a killer, anyway i first got turned on to strife when i heard that becouse of there sharing the same label as UFO (chrysalis records) when there debut lp was released in 1975 i saw vintage ufo uk tour dates & ads for the FORCE IT UK TOUR in 1975 & STRIFE where the openers so that was good enough reason for me to check them out decades ago & i really like this debut lp, i feel like what i said in the heading of this review that it speaks for itself, PLEASE DO NOT MISUNDERSTAND!!! THIS DOES NOT SOUND AT ALL LIKE THE DEBUT JUDAS PRIEST LP ROCKA ROLLA from 1974 but in there own way STRIFE where trying to find there sound with this record and they got the deal with chrysalis becouse of R. DEAN TAYLOR, anyway we get a hell of a blast of great loud hard rock guitar solos and guitar playing, also a loud blast of keyboards here as well and a lot of pounding very hard bass as this outfit was obviously a power trio way back in the mid 70s, some of these solos are amazing, STRIFE & this record where brought up in a book that was written about UFO called HIGH STAKES AND DANGEROUS MEN and it was written by NEIL DANIALS and in the book he explains how of coarse STRIFE got the force it uk tour in 1975 but how they also gigged and played with other british hard rock greats of the time like well ?? UFO, JUDAS PRIEST, STRAY, BUDGIE , THE HM KIDS, THE NUTZ and so on. what again i meant about bringing rocka rolla up regarding this review is THEY WHERE SEARCHING FOR THERE SOUND ON THIS DEBUT LP THEY CALLED RUSH!! in 1975, just like PRIEST where searching for there sound on rocka rolla in 1974 & UFO where searching for there sound on UFO 1 in 1970 with that great!! very bluesy sounding record, anyway this is well done, comes with killer remastering and a fantastic booklet on the history of strife rock candy style, i wish rock candy focused more on these obscure long lost great british bands from the 70s then the long lost forgotten L.A & US POSER HM bands of the 1980s, anyway very pleased with this, if you like 70s hard british rock you will certainly find something to really dig about this release............. again great guitarist & vocalist john was......
