About a year ago, we bought the first Rush Revere book for our then 12 year old son. He's not really into chapter books without pictures or cartoons (think Diary of a Wimpy Kid), and he's a super big reader, so we were a bit hesitant to buy the first book in the Rush Revere series because we weren't sure that he would read the book. We just wanted to help him learn about the history of the United States and why we have such an amazing and wonderful country that blesses the world. He gobbled up the first book and asked if this was a series book. We bought the second one, and within about a year, he had the whole series. He LOVES this series more than any other collection we have. I've read them as well, and they are fun, snarky, and they teach the values and stories that made America the greatest country in the history of the world.
