Tom Ellis is a fabulous actor who manages to be funny and dramatic; he uses not only body language but also his face to great effect in conveying his character's thoughts and feelings. In this first season he is trying to work his way back toward redeeming himself from his bad boy persona, which even at his worst has a sensitive and compassionate nature underneath. But his history is dragging him down even as he tries to reform for the woman he loves. Unfortunately, the first and only season ends with a cliff hanger and there is no 2nd season.
